| The museum is open May 4th - Sept 5th 2010. Closed on Mondays. Anu Tuominen: Red Threads May 4th - Sept 5th The recognized and awarded conceptual artist Anu Tuominen is exhibiting her artworks in the museum interiors during May 4th – September 5th. Tuominen is a collector of things and a frequent visitor to flea markets. In her works she uses recycled material, which she combines in innovative and ingenious ways. Tuominen wants to give a meaning to insignificant or worthless objects and she suggests new ways for us to see our surroundings. Yarn is a central material in her artistic production and it runs like a red thread through the works. With her works shown in the Handicrafts Museum she strives to make a comment on the museum interiors. |
