The Sibelius Museum - the most important music museum in Finland

The Sibelius Museum - the most important music museum in Finland - is named after the best-known Finnish composer, Jean Sibelius. The museum is beautifully situated on the banks of the River Aurajoki, just a stone´s throw from Turku Cathedral.

Sibelius museoThe museum building is considered one of the treasures of Finnish modernism and as such is an architectural experience in itself. The permanent Sibelius exhibition presents the life and music of the master himself.Visitors can also see hundreds of interesting instruments from Finland and around the world.

The museum hosts temporary exhibitions and events focusing on different areas of music. Concerts are held in the chamber music hall on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm in the spring and autumn.
