Turku City Library is an elegant building that combines modern and classic architecture offering culture in its many forms. The library is the perfect escape from the rush of the city life into an intellectual and artistic heaven.

An oasis of culture
Turku City Library is open every day and most city residents have taken to it as their living room. The architecturally distinguished building offers facilities for events and exhibitions as well as several cosy reading corners. Visitors can delve into the Library’s thousands of Finnish and International journals, in paper or electronic format. In addition to the many computers available, laptop users can access the wireless network.

During the summer, the Italian Café Sirius extends onto a terrace out on the Library Courtyard. The café is fully licensed.

Finding your way around
To help visitors understand all this fascinating building has to offer, there are the Architecture and Art Tours that take you through the culture and history of the library block. The children have their own Library Walk and designated area, the ‘Saga’ zone, where a planet from the solar system and a huge zeppelin watch over them from above.
