Turku Grand Prix brings downhill racers to the centre of Turku in an ecological event full of action for the whole family.
The race has two categories: downhill vehicles built by amateurs and racing vehicles built by professionals. The participants will be encouraged to construct their vehicles from recycled materials and to utilise a fuel-free ideology as a fun way to promote the prevention of climate change.
The warm-up races for the main event were organised during the summer of 2010. In 2011, the race will expand to a two-day urban extravaganza complete with support events. The races are being planned to become an annual event.
