Samppalinna summer theatre is Finland’s largest summer musical theatre and, over the course of fifty years operation, has taken its place in the hallmark of Finnish theatre.
Samppalinna specializes in musicals and music theatre. The theatre’s 850-seater rotating auditorium is covered so that you will enjoy the entertainment come rain or shine.
The musical comedy Housut pois! (The Full Monty) is based on the Oscar-winning movie. Unemployed steel-workers form their own ‘Chippendale-inspired’ dance group. They won’t be detered by their lack of dancing ability nor their beer-bellies, but the road to success is not without obsticles. This touching and warm-hearted comedy has brought musical success both in Finland and abroad.
