Kimito Island offers a host of unique sights and attractions - so take your time and let yourself be charmed by archipelago life!
The journey to the cape of Kasnäs is now much faster due to the opening of the Lövö Bridge last summer. Once there it’s worthwhile visiting the Blåmusslan Visitor Centre, which explains all about the Archipelago National Park. During the summer we recommend you continue on from Kasnäs on the daily boat connection to Bengtskär Lighthouse Island, a truly fantastic experience!
The Viking Centre of Rosala Island introduces the Viking history of the archipelago. There is plenty to do on the islands of Rosala, Hiittinen, Högsåra and Vänö that together offer music events, theatre, markets, and canoeing. The public sailings with traditional boats are also popular events.
The old ironworks village of Taalintehdas is known for it’s fine guest harbour, lively marketplace culture as well as the Baltic Jazz Festival. Visit the house of late patron Amos Anderson at Söderlångvik Manor, and enjoy the magnificent art collection as well as the manor park. The Sagalund cultural centre of Kimito is a countryside museum full of great experiences specifically for young people.
MANOR LIFE
On the archipelago's largest agricultural island some of the old farms have evolved into restaurants, galleries and concert halls. At Westers garden you can savour the flavours of the organic vegetables along with the melodies of piano concerts. The relaxation at the Storfinnhova forest sauna awaits bathers, whilst Bjärkas is the place for golf lovers. At Westankärr visitors can enjoy the 17th Century splendour of the manor, or buy farm products from the renovated barn, that also hosts exhibitions and concerts, such as during the Kemiönsaari Music Festival.
