Paimio Electricity Museum

Finland's largest museum of electricity is located in Paimio.  There you can acquaint yourself with the production and history of the use of electricity. Where else would a museum of electricity fit better than in Paimio, animated with the spirit of the history of electricity, topped only by the even more electric present day. Electricity has, after all, provided a source of livelihood for as many as every third Paimio resident.

The Paimio Electricity Museum offers professionals, as well as others interested in history an interesting historical review from a technical perspective.  The museum takes children and young people into consideration when planning its activities by organising visits for kindergarten- and school-age children.  Children have the opportunity to observe first-hand what life was like before the invention of electricity, and what a miraculous experience it was to be able to turn on electricity in your home.

From the small museum shop a visitor can find and take home as souvenirs, samples of Paimio's arts and crafts, as well as jewellery, literature, and music performed and partially created by Paimio residents.
